The One New Heart Tanzania ("TONHT", "we") is a non-governmental organisation registered in Tanzania, number 00NGO/R/5641, with its registered office at Plot No. 994 Block CC, Iyumbu West, P.O. Box 2259, Dodoma and a physical address C/O Ark Associates Limited, 11th Floor, Exchange Tower, Morocco Square, Dar es Salaam 14112. We are the controller of the personal data described here. What we collect and why

Contact form. Your name, email address, telephone number if you give it, the subject you select and your message, so that we can reply. The form also records the time it was opened and your IP address for abuse prevention.

Donations. Card and PayPal payments are processed by PayPal on behalf of One New Heart Foundation USA. Mobile money and bank payments are processed by the mobile operator or the bank. We do not receive or store your full card or account number. We receive the amount, the date and the name or reference shown on the transaction, which we need for receipts and for our audit.

Moyo Guide. The text of your question, the language you selected and the answer given. We do not ask for your name, a child's name, a phone number, an address or a hospital number and you should not include them.

Browsing. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) kept by our hosting provider and by us for security, and anonymous aggregated usage statistics if you accept analytics cookies.

Who receives your data

Only service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and only what each one needs:

• Hosting and content delivery. Our web host and content delivery network handle every request to this site and see your IP address and the pages you request.
• Email. Contact form messages are delivered to our mailbox through our email provider.
• Payments. PayPal, our bank and the mobile money operator process donations under their own privacy policies.
• Moyo Guide. Your question is sent to our server and from there, together with the retrieved source passages, to OpenRouter, which routes it to the AI model we have configured. OpenRouter and the model provider receive the text of your question and produce the answer. This is why you should not include identifying details. Our API key stays on the server and is never sent to your browser.
• Analytics. Only if you accept analytics cookies, an analytics service receives anonymous, aggregated usage data.
• Auditors. Our independent auditors may inspect donation records.

The contact form uses no third-party verification service; its checks run on our own server. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

Children's stories and photographs

We publish a child's story or photograph only where a parent or guardian has given written consent and we record where that consent is filed. A family may withdraw consent at any time by writing to us and we will remove the material. We do not publish a child's full clinical record.

How long we keep it

Contact messages: up to 24 months. Donation records: the period required by Tanzanian tax and NGO law. Moyo Guide questions and answers: up to 12 months, for quality and safety review, then deleted. Server logs: up to 12 months.

How we protect it

All traffic to this site is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to personal data is restricted to staff who need it, with individual accounts and role-based permissions. Form submissions are validated on the server before anything is stored or emailed.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to a particular use. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in a jurisdiction with a data protection authority, you may also complain to it.

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used.

We use no advertising cookies and no third-party advertising trackers. Where we link to a video, it opens on YouTube in a new tab; YouTube sets its own cookies there under its own policy. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them and you can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies for this site.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this website, including anything produced by Moyo Guide, is medical advice, a diagnosis or a prescription and none of it creates a doctor-patient relationship. The One New Heart Tanzania does not provide emergency medical services and the telephone numbers on this site are ordinary office lines. If a child is unwell, take them to a qualified health professional. If a child is struggling to breathe, has blue lips or has fainted, go to the nearest hospital or health centre immediately. Never delay seeking care because of something you read here.

Moyo Guide

Moyo Guide is an educational tool grounded in a curated registry of published medical guidance. It will not diagnose, will not prescribe, will not recommend doses and will not decide whether a procedure is needed, regardless of how a question is put. It may be incomplete or out of date and it may decline to answer. You use it on the understanding that it supplements, and never replaces, a consultation with a health professional.

Donations

Donations made through this website are voluntary and, unless we agree otherwise in writing, are not restricted to a specific child or procedure. We allocate funds to mission-aligned activities as our management judges most effective. Card and PayPal donations are received by One New Heart Foundation USA, a registered 501(c)(3); tax treatment depends on your own jurisdiction and we do not give tax advice. Donations are generally non-refundable, but if you believe a payment was made in error, write to us and we will look into it.

Our content

Text, photographs, illustrations and the TONHT name and logo on this site belong to us or to our partners and are protected by copyright. You may quote and link to our published reports and figures with attribution. You may not reuse photographs of children, reproduce the site's design, or use our name or logo to imply an endorsement, without our written permission.

Acceptable use

You may not use this site to submit unlawful, abusive or misleading content, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, to scrape it at a volume that degrades service, or to attempt to manipulate Moyo Guide into producing clinical advice.

Links to other sites

We link to One New Heart Foundation USA, One Heart Travel, YouTube and various medical organisations. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of sites we do not operate.

Liability and governing law

We take care to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by Tanzanian law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on information published here or from any interruption to the site. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania and the courts of Tanzania have jurisdiction over any dispute.
