Her name is Ivannah Makono, she is 4 years old and the firstborn of her mother, Mapembe Nhiwela Justine, who is the ward officer in Dodoma. Ivannah’s mother was married to her father, who divorced her immediately after learning that his daughter had a heart defect, believing it might be inherited from her mother’s side.

Since the divorce, Ivannah’s mother has been living and taking care of her daughter as a single mother, receiving help from her relatives and different people with kind hearts. Ivannah underwent her first surgery at a young age and attended a heart clinic at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute in Dar es Salaam. Later, she was supposed to undergo a second surgery in India, and that is where her mother came to know about us.

Living in Dodoma, Tanzania, Ivannah’s mother learned about us through our social media in June 2020.

Later, we assisted Ivannah in receiving her second heart surgery in India, which was a success.
