Siham Aden, a young lady from Kenya, was diagnosed with a heart defect in February 2021 when she was 4 years old, after experiencing a severe cough. She was sent to a doctor, and an echo result showed that she had PDA.
Her father was told to send her to Mater Hospital for a heart operation costing KSHS 800,000, but he was not able to afford this amount. Then, he was connected to The One New Heart Tanzania through the Care for a Child’s Heart organization. Siham received her PDA closure at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital on July 14, 2021.
At The One New Heart Tanzania, we are grateful that we can serve children beyond our geographical borders. Thanks to those who make all these lifesaving initiatives a success.
